Today is a joyous occasion for the Kingdom of Talossa! After the abdication of King Robert I on the 16 August 2005, and the abdication of the 'Boy-King' King Louis on the 29 November 2006, the Kingdom now has a true active and adult Monarch which it has cried out for these last nineteen months.
After the bitter after taste left by King Robert in the Kingdom, and the absence of the 'Minor King Louis,' who's appointed regent, Dr. Greg Rajala, administered the king's powers on the king's behalf, there are high expectations for King John live up to. But there is great optimism that King John will deliver as promised
The occasion is not all celebration, though, as some Talossans saw King Woolley's ascension to the throne as a defeat. They had hoped the hereditary nature of the monarchy would have been debated before the election of the king, One such Talossan, Sir Fritz, to whom the Kingdom owes much, told his fellow citizens "It is no secret that I disagree with a 'hereditary' monarchy. It was my hope that we could become a different kind of monarchy, with Kings chosen by the people, not by chance. Well, that did not happen and I must bow to the will of the people.
I will now become one of those 'inactive' citizens that we all complain about....but I will never forget any of you, and I am a better person for having been involved in the great Kingdom of Talossa.". What will happen to these citizens remains unclear, and the issue still remains open for debate should it wished to be addressed in the near future.
Hopefully, the reign of King John will signal the dawn of a happier, peaceful and blissful time in Talossa. I wish the best to King John in his new found position.
God save King John, by the grace of God, King of Talossa and of all its realms and regions, King of Cézembre, Sovereign Lord and Protector of Pengöpäts and the New Falklands, Defender of the Faith, Leader of the Armed Forces, Viceroy of Hoxha and Vicar of Atatürk!
