Welcome to the Octagon & Crown
Beneveneschti à La Vuitsidátx és la CoronâThe Octagon & Crown is the newest in a long tradition of Talossan news sources. What makes the O&C different, though, is it is the first attempt to cover both Talossan states in a single news format. The citizens of 'Greater Talossa' have a common heritage, and although they may be able to directly participate in the politics of their 'home' Talossa, this common heritage gives us an interest in what is going on on both sides of the Vuode Wall. The average citizen will struggle to keep abreast of events in two Wittenbergs, therefore, we here at the Octagon & Crown hope to provide concise, factual reports on news from both the Regipäts and the Repúblicá.
Three Sections To your left under the Navigation header you will notice three pages to get news from. The Octagon is where you'll find news about the Republic. It takes its name from the small Octagon formed from where the four stars of the Republic's flag come together. Hence the slogan, 'at the heart of the Republic.' More obviously, the Crown will cover the goings on among the subjects of the Kingdom. And lastly, more in hope than expectation, there is a third section to cover 'Inter-Talossan' news. This page is where all news items that would be relevant to the citizens of both Talossas will be presented. This would include stories about El Gelþ, interstate Talossan relations, and cross-border cultural activities.Help NeededThis is not meant to be a solo effort! I need help keeping these pages fresh and current, and, as a citizen of the Republic, I need help covering the Kingdom. Anyone from either Talossa is welcome to contribute, but it is hoped that a dedicated reporter to cover the Kingdom will be found soon. If you are interested in helping out please contact me on octagonandcrown at yahoo dot co dot uk.
